Owl Wings
Jul 17
I am in love with owls. I am also in love with Harry Potter. With my love for both of those things, I could absolutely see no reason why I should not make owl wings for all the festivities of the last weekend. One can always use owl wings. Or rather, I am always positive that I will many times to wear them. My goal was to look a bit like Hedwig so I made them with white and silver fabric. I got a knit fabric because it was the only stuff I could find that I liked and that was a mistake. It was such a Nightmare to work with but it turned out okay in the end. Just please use cotton if you want to make these.
When I saw this picture I thought I was going to die of happiness. Are you kidding me? You just dont really get cuter than this. If you click on the picture it will take you to a tutorial with the dimensions for little kiddo’s. I made mine basically the same way but big enough to fit me. I measured my ‘wing span’ cut that number in half and made each wing so it would go to the middle of my neck. If you have any questions, just ask me but the tutorial on the blog is pretty good.
I also had to share these! I want every party I ever throw to be Harry Potter themed. My family would probably quickly get sick of it.

I hope it was a magical weekend for everyone. I know it was bitter sweet for me. I am sad that all the 13 years of waiting for Harry Potter are over but what a fantastic 13 years it has been. Thank you Harry for being a wonderful companion to my childhood!
